Hands on course for dentists looking to maximise their results from managing TMD Join this one-day interactive course and discover the latest contemporary theories and treatment of TMD from the perspective of the dentist, expert facial physiotherapist and ENT surgeon. This course will discuss medical considerations, biopsychosocial model and theory required to understand the deliverance of person-centred care for TMD and is supported by live demonstrations, including: Live demonstration of contemporary injecting techniques for Botulinum toxin use in TMD, Live demonstration on muscular palpation and joint assessment as per DCTMD and beyond, soft tissue release TMJ, basic exercise prescription for clicks and deviations, Live demonstration of the first dentist appointment, best practice screening questionnaires and history taking techniques. In addition, demystify occlusal splints, with practical, take-home suggestions for when to use which type of splint and why, and learn how you can assemble your own local multidisciplinary team in private practice to better support your patients.

Associate Professor Catherine Meller

Associate Professor Catherine Meller is an Otolaryngologist, Head and Neck and Facial Reconstructive surgeon. She completed her specialist ENT training through the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, and graduated with honours from University of Sydney Medical School. She enjoys managing a wide range of adult and paediatric ENT conditions, and offers cutting-edge facial reconstructive and facial nerve reanimation surgery. Catherine provides a large range of ENT services on the northern beaches, north shore and inner city. She has a public hospital appointment at Prince of Wales and Sydney Hospitals. She particularly enjoys mentoring junior doctors and regularly facilitates professional development courses in conjunction with other health professionals. Catherine is a regular international guest speaker in the field of facial reconstructive surgery and managing TMD for surgeons.

Dr Ellie Seckold

Dr Ellie Seckold is a Facial Physiotherapist. She owns and is practice principle at the Facial Physio in Sydney. Ellie works specifically with people experiencing TMD, facial paralysis, post facial nerve reanimation, complex oro-facial pain, headache and migraine. She completed a PhD in the area of facial nerve paralysis and TMJ in 2016 through USyd.

Dr Rohan Krishnan

Dr Rohan Krishnan is a general dentist in private practice in Sydney. He completed is Bachelors in Medical Science and Dentistry (Hons) from University of Sydney and subsequently a Masters of Science in Medicine (Orofacial Pain Management). Rohan has lectured at The University of Sydney and The University of Newcastle and is a Board Member of ADA NSW. He is a Board Member with the Australian Dental Council. He is also a Member of the Australian and New Zealand Academy of Orofacial Pain. He runs a private practice in Northern Sydney and works in a real world multi-disciplinary team with Ellie and Catherine in TMD.
