What are the benefits of Dental Protection membership?

Dentolegal Advice and Support
Through a scheme of co-operation, acting as the agents for Dental Protection in New Zealand, NZDA can offer assistance and advice for any problems arising from the practise of dentistry. They can assist with matters relating to patient complaints, and are happy to provide guidance on handling a range of dentolegal issues. See below for NZDA contacts.

You can also seek help and advice directly from Dental Protection, who have more than 70 dentolegal advisers on hand to help with any legal and ethical problems that arise from your professional practice. You can call during normal daytime working hours (UK time), or 24 hours a day, seven days a week in an emergency.

Clinical negligence claims in New Zealand are rare, but if you do face a claim, Dental Protection can help. Membership gives you the right to request indemnity for any action, proceeding, claim or demand made against you that arises from your professional practice.

Education, Events & Risk Management Resources
Like you, Dental Protection believes that prevention is better than cure. With decades of experience supporting and defending dental practitioners, they have a unique insight into why things go wrong, and why complaints and claims arise.  Using this knowledge, their educational services team have developed a range of workshops, events, and online learning modules to help you identify and address issues, reduce your risks and deliver improved patient outcomes.

As a member you can access:
