Not all emergence profiles are created equal. The emergence profile—the contour of a restoration as it transitions from the implant or abutment through the gingival tissues— is dependent on the clinical situation. The choice influences esthetics, soft tissue support, hygiene access, and long-term stability. A “one-size-fits-all” approach can risk poor tissue health or esthetic outcomes, therefore tailoring the emergence profile to the individual patient’s anatomy and prosthetic requirements is essential.
