There has been a surge in the number of external cervical resorption cases. Interestingly most referrals from dentists mention their hygienists picking up the ‘pink spots’ at the cement-enamel junctions. It is important that dental professionals are aware of this phenomenon as early diagnosis and intervention are associated with better outcomes.

Howard graduated with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery with first class honours in 2013 from the University of Otago. He practised in Auckland prior to his return to Dunedin for his specialist training. During his training, he was awarded the University of Otago Doctoral scholarship. He now practices full-time at Endocentral with Dr Sara Jardine

Dr Richard Longbottom

Dr. Richard Longbottom is a renowned specialist in Implant Dentistry, Perioscopy and Periodontology. Richard completed his undergraduate education at Otago University in 1981, and continued his postgraduate training at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, NC, in the United States. He has been working in New Zealand since 2001.
