Presenters will talk through the practicalities of treating patients for oral surgery procedures, and in this three part series will share their experience and top tips for success. They will cover pre-op assessment, intra-operative challenges and the post operative issues and sequelae that can be challenging. Part 3: Post-operative management At times, problems only arise after the treatment has been completed. Efficiently diagnosing and managing any post-operative sequelae is an important aspect in part of any oral surgery procedure. Speaker

Nabeela Ahmed

Nabeela is a UK trained Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon. She completed her dental degree in 1999 and medical degree in 2006. Her maxillofacial training was across several major teaching hospitals in the UK including three major trauma centres. She obtained her certificate of completion for her maxillofacial training in February 2019 and then undertook a prolonged (by COVID) fellowship in Darwin, Australia and Hamilton, NZ. She is on the UK specialist list for both Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Oral Surgery. She has been working as a maxillofacial consultant in the UK where she was a dental trainee supervisor. Alongside her clinical practice she enjoys teaching and has a Masters in Medical Education. Her clinical interest is in traumatic and acquired deformity of the face and skin cancer. Her practice base will be Tauranga Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (TOMS).
