This webinar series will provide the latest evidence-based information on caries risk assessment and caries management that will aid practitioners and their team in delivering optimal care for all patients in clinical practice. Dr John Featherston will describe the tools to implement “caries management by risk assessment (CAMBRA®)” in the dental practice or academic environment. Implementation provides patients with genuine hope and success in the management of their oral health. It is a practice builder. Part 1 The caries balance will be described, including the pathological and protective factors related to caries initiation, progression and prevention clinically. Optimum use of fluoride products and delivery systems, antibacterial therapy, and dietary modification will be discussed. Part 2 The evidence for the efficacy of caries risk assessment will be presented. Several risk assessment methods will be compared. Participants will learn how to do a clinically applicable caries risk assessment for patients of all age groups. Part 3 Information from parts 1 and 2 will be brought together to learn how to do a personalised caries management program for low, moderate, high or extreme risk patients. This will include all aspects of “optimal intervention dentistry”, including necessary restorative procedures relevant to each risk level. Part 1: Thursday 18 April 2024 | 7-8pm Part 2: Wednesday 24 April 2024 | 7-8pm Part 3: Thursday 2 May 2024 | 7-8pm
