After graduating from Otago in 1984 and spending the first decade placing amalgam in Auckland, London and then Tauranga, a trip to Melbourne in 1994 to see an American presenter from UCSF called Alton Lacy, introduced Kevin to composite resin placement using Paldodent Matrices, Danville Bitine Rings and Bisco products including All-Bond. That’s when he stopped using amalgam. Then in the ensuing years, he attended multiple courses with various leaders in their field of tooth restoration including Geoff Knight, Pascal Magne, David Allemann and even our very own Graeme Milicich, always looking for a better way. Fast forward to January 2017 and he was listening to a podcast called Dental Hacks. This is when he first heard about Bioclear. It sounded amazing! So, he booked into the next available course in April that same year. Since then, he has been back three times to complete all the courses including the Advanced Restorative. He even went back last year to do an update course and came back even more enthused as the system has been evolving to deal with more challenging cases. Being a Past President of the NZIMID this system appealed to his principles of preserving tooth structure. Kevin has been practicing in Tauranga for 32 years. He is in a group practice, sharing rooms with medical specialists. He is delighted to be able to spread the word about the Bioclear system.
