Omar Ikram
Omar was born in Christchurch, New Zealand and completed his Bachelor of Dental surgery degree at Otago University. After working in New Zealand, he moved to London practising in both NHS and Private practices. During his time there he gained significant experience in cosmetic and emergency dentistry. In 2005 he obtained his Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons, the same year he began Specialist training in Endodontology at King’s College, London. His Masters thesis investigating: Tooth Tissue Volume Changes Following Endodontic Procedures and Post Space Preparation, this was the first study of its kind using micro computed tomography. These findings were presented at the American Association of Endodontists Spring meeting, in Florida 2009 and published in the International Endodontic Journal, during his final year. After completion of specialist training he re-located to Sydney and treated the State waitlist in Sydney Dental hospital, as well as establishing Specialist Endo Crows Nest. A private practice with the specific aim to help educate dentists and treat the endodontic needs of patients. For his work in the wider dental community he was inducted into the International College of Dentists in 2019. In 2021 he co- created a popular smart phone App called ‘EndoPrep’ - designed to help dentists plan cases and gain more enthusiasm for Endodontics.
