Case Selection for crown and bridge cases study group will include patient assessment, diagnosis, abutment evaluation, occlusal considerations, periodontal and restorative prognosis, aesthetic demands, material selection, and risk assessment for single crowns and fixed partial dentures. Emphasis is placed on identifying appropriate indications and contraindications for treatment, comparing alternative restorative options, and justifying treatment decisions using sound prosthodontic principles

Learning outcomes

Participants will be able to critically assess and select appropriate crown and bridge cases by evaluating patient factors, tooth prognosis, occlusion, periodontal status, aesthetic demands, and restorative requirements, and justify treatment planning decisions using current prosthodontic principles and evidence-based practice

Lin is passionate about creating functional and beautiful smiles. She graduated with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery from the University of Otago in 2017 and gained valuable experience working in Auckland and Waikato. During this time, she successfully completed her exams to become a fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons. Driven to specialise in prosthodontics, Lin returned to Otago to complete her Doctorate in Clinical Dentistry. In addition to her clinical expertise, she has contributed to dental education by teaching and examining students at the University of Otago.
