Prof Marcelo Figueredo BDS (Griffith); PhD (Karolinska Institutet, Sweden)

Marcelo Figueredo is a Professor of Periodontology at the School of Medicine and Dentistry at Griffith University (Australia) and is an affiliated researcher at the Karolinska Institutet (Sweden). He earned his PhD in Periodontology and Clinical Chemistry from the Karolinska Institutet in 1999, with a thesis on “Hyperreactive neutrophils: A mechanism of tissue destruction in periodontitis.” Since then, his research has focused on the systemic effects of periodontal disease and biological complications of osseointegrated implants

Dr Pedja Pavlovic MSc Periodontolgy, University of London

Dr Pedja Pavlovic is a Specialist in Periodontics with nearly three decades of experience in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of gum diseases. He grew up in Serbia and joined the UK General Dental Council’s Specialist Register in Periodontics in 2001, following completion of his specialist training and Licence in Dental Surgery (LDS, RCS) in London. In May 2025, his registration as a Periodontist was approved by the Dental Council of New Zealand (DCNZ).
