The presentation will review how to ensure safe and effective prescribing of common dental medications - with a primary focus on antibiotics and analgesia. I will cover useful resources to assist with clinical decisions in prescribing and solutions to limitations of medical history gathering at a dental practice. I will also revise legalities around prescription writing, including controlled drug prescriptions and updates in this space (ePrescribing). If we have time, I have some interesting cases from the community we can discuss too.
