Predictable long-term alternative to fixed tooth replacement There is little doubt that implant dentistry has revolutionised the way we practice and offer so much flexibility to us as clinicians when it comes to replacing teeth for our patients. But have we forgotten that there are other options? Implants are not the best option all the time. In fact, there are many scenarios in which implants should not be pursued. Tooth retained bridges can provide an elegant alternative to implants and dentures. Some bridge types, like resin bonded bridges are also amongst the most conservative treatment options we can offer. Importantly, however, these skills are technique sensitive. This course hopes to offer attendees the essential knowledge and hands on experience to begin utilising this type of treatment in practice.

Learning outcomes

Understand the appropriate scenarios in which tooth retained bridges can be used. Gain an understanding of the material and configuration choices available Obtain knowledge on and hands on experience with preparations, impressions and cementation of tooth retained bridges Know factors that will make or break bridge cases
