Sleep-related breathing disorders (SBD) are serious conditions affecting many adults and a subset of children. As a complex, multifactorial disease, SBD requires an interdisciplinary approach, with dental providers playing a critical role in its management. With growing awareness and evolving treatment modalities, dental professionals are increasingly integrating SBD management into their daily practice— some approaches even claim to cure or prevent the condition. Terms like airway dentistry, airway smile design, and airway-focused treatment planning have been coined by enthusiastic providers.
