Eating disorders aren't always visible but dentists do have a unique window into a disease that thrives in silence and shame. Sometimes there are physical signs like acid erosion from bulimia, obesity and dental caries from poor oral hygiene. The presentation will include an overview of the Overeaters Anonymous programme of recovery and provide you with information and resources for your clinics. Also included will be an overview of recent interviews with members about the impact of disordered eating on their general and oral health and how OA aided their recovering journey.
