The NZRC CORE Immediate is designed for healthcare professionals who are expected to manage the early stages of a cardiac arrest. The skills stations within this course include : The management of the collapsed adult child and infant. The safe use of an AED on a collapsed patient. The management of an airway obstruction and medical emergencies including anaphylaxis. This course also includes hands on scenarios and individual assessments on the skills stations covered on the course. There is no written assessment.

Learning outcomes

 Upon completion of the course the learner should be expected to manage the early stages of a cardiac arrest. This includes adult, child and Infant collapse.The safe use of an AED and the management of an airway obstruction and breathing. The early management of anaphylaxis is also covered on the course.

I am an extremely experienced Registered Nurse and NZRC CORE Instructor. I work within the Wellington region as a Resuscitation Educator. My background in Nursing includes, Intensive Care, Post operative recovery and the assessment of the deteriorating patient. I am currently enrolled as a student in the NZQA Adult & Tertiary Teaching level 4 Course.
