Correct three-dimensional implant position is a key determining factor for achieving successful outcomes in implant dentistry. Advances in digital technology have paved the way for modern approaches in guided implant surgery which can provide accurate and predictable results. This presentation will outline the evolution of surgical guidance in implant dentistry.

Prof. Dean Morton

Dean Morton completed his dental training at the University of Sydney (Aust.) and his MS and Postgraduate Certificate in Prosthodontics at the University of Iowa (1995). He serves as the Indiana Dental Association (IDA) Professor in the Department of Prosthodontics at the Indiana University School of Dentistry and as the Director of the Center for Implant, Esthetic and Innovative Dentistry. Dr. Morton is an Honorary Fellow of the ITI. He is a diplomate, examiner and immediate Past President of the American Board of Prosthodontics and is an active fellow or member of many national and international associations. Dr. Morton remains active in research and has published more than 150 scientific articles, abstracts and chapters. He lectures widely on prosthodontics, implant and esthetic dentistry.

Dr. William Martin

Will Martin, DMD, MS, FACP is a Clinical Professor in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Florida’s College of Dentistry. He received his DMD from the University of Florida and completed his MS and Certificate in Prosthodontics from Baylor College of Dentistry. Dr. Martin joined the faculty at the University of Florida in 1999 and currently serves as the Director of the Centre for Implant Dentistry. Dr. Martin is a Diplomate of the American Board of Prosthodontics and a Fellow of the American College of Prosthodontists, International Team for Implantology and Associate Fellow of the Academy of Prosthodontics. Dr. Martin has authored numerous peer-reviewed scientific articles and abstracts. He has co-authored several textbooks on implant dentistry, specifically the ITI Treatment Guides Vols. 1 and 10, S.A.C. Classification in Implant Dentistry (1st Edition) and most recently the 2nd Edition. He is the past Chairman of the Section USA of the ITI and maintains a part-time practice limited to Prosthodontics within the Centre for Implant Dentistry. He lectures both nationally and internationally on esthetic and implant dentistry.
