Immediate Responder - Up to 3hrs, Suitable for Dentists not administering sedation. This course is designed to give you an update of the knowledge you would need for basic life support for an Adult, Child, and Infant. The Immediate Responder course is aligned to the ANZCOR (Australian and Zealand Resuscitation Council) guidelines and will be updated as changes are recommended. It is recommended you attend CPR training annually or as required by your organisation. Content Covered: • Basic Life Support for Adult, Child, and Infant • Use of the Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) • Management of Choking • Airway management (OP/NP/LMA) • Anaphylaxis • Adult Collapse Scenario
1) Be able to identify situations where emergency care is appropriate 2) Identify when and how to activate the emergency response system. (111 in the community or the telephone number/system within your organisation) 3) To provide effective compressions on infant, child, and adult manikins 4) To provide emergency care in simulated conditions 5) To display the safe use of an AED on an adult manikin 6) Identify safety issues involved in emergency care and how to manage them 7) To display the effective assessment of airway and breathing and provide effective airway clearance and ventilation on infant, child and adult manikins using barrier device (if comfortable) and bag mask methods.
