There’s nothing quite as anxiety-inducing for a new graduate dentist as facing an extraction in those first few months out of the dental school bubble. You sit the patient back, grip the forceps, and silently pray that the tooth will magically loosen as planned—without that dreaded crack signalling a fractured crown or snapped root hidden below the gumline. Suddenly, your confidence evaporates, and you wonder if you’ll ever feel comfortable doing an extraction again. But if extractions were truly unpredictable and luck-driven, every oral surgeon in the world would be working in a constant state of stress and uncertainty—and we know that’s not the case. The truth is, extractions are not a mystery. They are systematic, assessable, and— when approached with the right mindset and techniques—highly predictable. Unfortunately, most graduates enter practice with limited exposure to real-world oral surgery, and minimal preparation for making extraction decisions confidently.

Learning outcomes

This one-day interactive course is designed to change that. Accurate pre-operative assessment and applying effective surgical principles will allow you to stay in control of the procedure.
