Advanced Responder - Up to 4hrs, Suitable for Dentists administering sedation. This course is designed to give you an update of the knowledge you would need for basic life support for an Adult, Child, and Infant. The Advanced Responder course is aligned to the ANZCOR (Australian and Zealand Resuscitation Council) guidelines and will be updated as changes are recommended. It is recommended you attend CPR training annually or as required by your organisation. Content Covered: • Adult collapse management plan and AED • Manual Defibrillator • Team scenario practice • Management of Anaphylaxis • Paediatric collapse management plan • Airway Management (Ambubag, Oropharyngeal airway (Guedal airways), Oxygen, Suction, LMA) • Resuscitation Drugs • EZ-IO • Management of Choking
1) Be able to identify situations where resuscitation is required and follow the appropriate collapse management plan. 2) Identify when and how to activate the emergency response system 111 in the community or the telephone number/system within your place of work. 3) To display the effective assessment of DRSABCD and provide effective sustainable compression on infant, child, and adult manikins 4) To display the safe use of a defibrillator (AED and/or manual) on a manikin 5) To display appropriate and effective airway management and ventilation on a manikin 6) To display the effective management of a choking patient, 7) Identify safety issues involved in resuscitation and how to manage them 8) Participate in teamwork with a focus on human factors.
