This two-day hands-on seminar offers personalised, high-level training for general dentists wishing to pursue excellence in endodontics, and will teach state-of-the-art evidence-based procedures in root canal preparation and obturation, with a focus on recent advances in endodontic diagnosis and materials. Important techniques for avoiding and managing endodontic procedural problems will be analysed in detail, and participants will be introduced to contemporary methods for the removal of obturation materials and obstructions from root canals. Lecture material will be presented utilising microscope-assisted clinical video, and the workshop portion of the course will provide a hands-on opportunity to use the most clinically relevant rotary NiTi systems and obturation methods. Modern techniques for removing posts, gutta-percha, and fractured instruments will be demonstrated, with operating microscopes available for all hands-on exercises. Participation is designed to improve your clinical results, efficiency, scope of practice, and professional satisfaction.

Dr Mehdi Rahimi is an Adjunct Associate Professor at Charles Sturt University (Orange). Mehdi graduated with a Bachelor in Dental Surgery with distinction from the University of Otago (New Zealand) in 2002 and received his Doctorate of Clinical Dentistry (Endo) degree from the University of Melbourne in 2008. He has been actively involved in Endodontic teaching at various continued education levels, both nationally and internationally. Mehdi is a guest lecturer at Sydney and Melbourne Universities, and a CPD mentor for the Australian Dental Association New South Wales (ADA NSW). Mehdi is the current President of the Australian Society of Endodontology (NSW branch), the immediate past-president of the Australian Asian Association of Dentists, a fellow of the International College of Dentists (FICD), a fellow of the Pierre Fauchard Academy, an ADA NSW councillor, ADA NSW Advocacy Committee, a member of the Royal Australian College of Dental Surgeons in Endodontics, and a member of the Australian and New Zealand Academy of Endodontists. Associate Professor Geoffrey Young is a highly qualified and experienced specialist endodontist. A/Prof Young obtained his BDS degree (University Medal) from the University of Sydney, his specialist degree from the University of Melbourne, and was the first endodontist in NSW awarded Fellowship of the RACDS in the Special Field of Endodontics. He subsequently established Sydney Endodontic Centre - the largest specialist endodontic group practice in the Inner West of Sydney. A/Prof Young is Head of Endodontics at the Department of Dentistry, Latrobe University. He holds an Adjunct Associate Professor appointment at the School of Dentistry and Medical Sciences, Charles Sturt University, and a Clinical Senior Lecturer appointment at the University of Sydney where he has provided clinical teaching for over 15 years. A/Prof Young is committed to the development and provision of continuing education through the Australian Dental Association and the RACDS. Chankhrit is an Adjunct Professor of Endodontics at Charles Sturt University. Formerly he was an Adjunct Associate Professor of Endodontic Research at La Trobe University and Convenor of the Predoctoral Endodontics and Graduate Certificate in Clinical Dentistry Programmes at The University of Melbourne. He completed Endodontic specialist training and a PhD at The University of Melbourne and became a member of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons in the Special Stream of Endodontics. His basic dental training was from Thailand. He has been invited to speak at several national and international Endodontic congresses such as ASE, ADA, IFEA, and ESE. He is an editorial board member of the Journal of Endodontics, International Endodontic Journal, Dental Traumatology, New Zealand Dental Journal, Journal of Dentistry, and European Journal of Dentistry. He maintains a private practice limited to Endodontics in Melbourne and Sydney. Mark graduated with a Bachelor of Dental Science with Honours from the University of Melbourne in 2008. He was on the Deans Honours List and winner of the Ernest Joske Prize in final year dentistry. He worked in private practice for three years before beginning specialist training, graduating with the Doctor of Clinical Dentistry in 2014 from the University of Melbourne and being awarded the Ephraim Ehrmann Memorial Prize. He completed a Masters of Health and Medical Law from the University of Melbourne in 2019 from the University of Melbourne. Mark practices in private practice in Maribyrnong, Victoria.
