Predictability in Clear Aligner Treatment: What Works and What Doesn’t. Clear aligners offer convenience, aesthetics, and broad patient appeal; but not all planned movements translate predictably into clinical reality. This lecture examines which movements aligners perform well, where they often fall short, and the underlying biomechanical reasons why. Through clinical examples and practical insights, delegates will gain a clearer understanding of how to plan and execute aligner treatments with greater confidence and reliability.

Learning outcomes

- Identify which tooth movements are most and least predictable with clear aligners. - Understand the key biomechanical principles that influence aligner effectiveness. - Implement clinical strategies to improve predictability in aligner planning and execution. - Recognise when to anticipate unpredictable outcomes and develop contingency plans to manage them effectively.
