This session will be lecture-style, with a combination of presentation and demonstration. Learn the fundamentals of all things Composite, including: - Shade selection - Controlled thickness layering technique - Preparation design - Tips to prevent the risk of voids - Bond failure and sensitivity - Whether to use a liner or not - Success with bulk fills - An overview of matrix systems - Finishing and polishing

Dr Dylan Yung

Dr Dylan Yung graduated from the University of Otago with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery in 1992. He was a founding member of the NZ Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry and maintains a private practice in Newmarket, Auckland, with a focus on reconstructive & aesthetic dentistry. Dr Yung brings a wealth of knowledge and experience from his extensive training abroad at the Fahl Centre for Aesthetic Dentistry (Brazil), the Kois Center, UCLA & the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies (USA) where he has also served as a clinical instructor. He has conducted numerous seminars and workshops both nationally and internationally lecturing on the latest aspects of cosmetic dentistry.

Dr Don Macalister

Don graduated with a BDS from the University of Otago in 1974 and gained his Fellowship in Dental Surgery (FDSRCS) from the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 1980. He is a member of the education committee of the New Zealand Society of Sedation in Dentistry NZSSD and a member of the NZDA Sedation Code of Practice expert panel. He is passionate about promoting the safe and effective use of sedation practices in dentistry. Don practices in Auckland’s Herne Bay.
