Dr Yung brings a wealth of knowledge and experience from his extensive training abroad at the Fahl Centre for Aesthetic Dentistry (Brazil), the Kois Center, UCLA & the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies (USA) where he has also served as a clinical instructor. The practice of Endodontics has experienced a shift in the delivery of services and advancement of scientific discovery within the field. Today, we are providing services involving more complex endodontic procedures under the multi-disciplinary umbrella. It has become increasingly important for the generalist and specialist to participate in concerted patient management with the over-riding value of quality and patient safety as the core. This day course will provide a comprehensive review of endodontic processes and procedures you require in the day-to-day running of your dental practice. Lectures are supported by clinical case presentations, where participation will be encouraged with plenty of time for questions. Course topics: — Case assessment, treatment records and informed consent — Tooth isolation — Anatomical Complexity — Magnification, 2D and 3D imaging — Instrumentation techniques, hand and rotary files. — Retreatment: Identify the main reasons for failure of root canal treatmentand provide a systematic approach to treatment — Disinfection — Obturation — Coronal seal — Restoration — Follow up - healing review — Trauma management This course is only for dentists within their first five years of practice.

David graduated BDS in 1980 from Otago and completed his post graduate degree in Endodontics in 1986 from The Baylor College of Dentistry, Dallas, Texas, USA. David is a past president of the NZ Society of Endodontics and the Australian and New Zealand Academy of Endodontics. He has lectured extensively throughout NZ and run numerous clinical training courses in Endodontics. David started his specialist practice in 1986 and to this day is currently working in the same practice in Remuera, Auckland.
