As dental technology continues to evolve, minimally invasive dentistry has become the patient standard of care. Many of the traditional principles taught in dental school curricular have all developed and changed significantly. Patient attitudes have also changed in terms of their expectation of modern dental care and the desired outcomes with respect to the management of dental disease. Patients are now seeking a holistic oral healthcare team approach to help maintain long-term oral health with preventionfocused and patient-centred care plans. Dental professionals cannot afford to rely on outdated protocols and techniques. They must embrace these evolutions in treatment protocols and technologies. Guided Biofilm Therapy (GBT) is the gold standard of minimally invasive dentistry. GBT can be used on all patients for maintenance, non-surgical periodontal treatment, implant maintenance, orthodontic maintenance, prior to orthodontic placement and during restorations and complex crown and bride work. Once you start using GBT ‘you can’t go back’.
